This post is 100% fresh off the (Word)press. I articulate how fandom communities and culture could provide a motivation for large game companies like Nintendo to expand their notions of sexuality beyond the M/F binary. I cite Homestuck as an example of media that better reflects the complex realities of human relationships and why it matters that “canon” representations of non-binary relationships show up in video games.
